Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2008

Mr Martin Burnham Receives the Queen's Award

The Board are delighted to now be permitted to announce the following:

“Her Majesty The Queen has been graciously pleased to approve the Prime Minister’s recommendation that a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category be conferred on your business unit”

    [The Queen’s Award Office, 19 March 2008]

This award is for Export Achievement and recognises IFA and its workforce as one of an elite group of companies. The Queen’s award is Britain’s most coveted commercial prize and can be used as currency for 5 years, up to 20 April 2013.

We are extremely proud to accept this award on behalf of IFA’s Board, Management and Workforce.

This is a tremendous boost for our company, particularly after the damaging flood of June 2007, and recognises the progress that IFA has made in its seven years of business. It is something with which we can proudly engage customers and suppliers alike, and reinforces IFA’s good reputation.

As you may know the business will have invested some £15m in capital equipment and resources over its first eight years. Our most recent investment being in a new third ring-rolling mill (330 Ton, 90” diameter capability). This together with ancillary equipment and major furnace investments in Forges 1 and 2 is scheduled for completion in December 2008.
